About Us

Oklahoma Black Living Legacy (OBLL) is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2020.

Our Mission: Oklahoma Black Living Legacy preserves Oklahoma City’s Black historical sites, legacies, artifacts, and builds awareness of Oklahoma City’s rich Black history to foster understanding and pride.

We are on the forefront of preserving and celebrating Oklahoma City’s Black history and sites, highlighting Black achievements, and spreading cultural awareness across generations.

WALKIING AND DRIVING TOUR. 

The interactive application will help visitors navigate exploration of the history of Deep Deuce, Oklahoma City's Black historical landmarks,  encounter Oklahoma City's Black significant persons, discover culture and businesses that shaped historic Black Oklahoma City neighborhoods.

An exhibit in 2024 of handmade quilts that reflect African-American history and culture featured during Black History Month at the historical home of the first Black doctor (Dr. W. H. OBLL Sponsored Performance of Roscoe Dunjee in 2023. Dunjee was the editor and owner of Oklahoma City's Black Dispatch and an advocate for civil rights.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

OBLL's Board of Directors are actively involved in carrying out OBLL's mission and ensuring the organization operates in a financially sustainable manner. Members take a hands on approach to achieve the organization's goals.

Board Chair

James' professional experience is with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. 

Marq Youngblood

Board Treasurer

Marq is currently a pastor over global and local missions and formally served as COO at the Department of Human Services. 

Renita Fish-Wisby

Board Secretary

Renita is presently a Risk Manager for the Oklahoma Veteran Administration Health Care System. 

Rozia McKinney-Foster

Board Member

Rozia served as Assistant AG at the office of Oklahoma Attorney General. 

Christian Jackson

Board Member

Christian is presently employed as a recruiter with Heartland Payment Systems. 

Doris Youngblood

Executive Director

Doris is a former Information Technology Project-Program Manager with the DoD, United States Pentagon.
